The jhanas are profound altered states of meditative absorption, and they are a growing trend among meditators, scientists, and top performers. Practitioners have described them the best thing they’ve experienced in 6 months or more, and early neural images seem to suggest distinct, measurable changes in the brain from this type of meditation. Further studies at places like McGill and Harvard are just getting started. Despite these dramatic qualities, pedagogy for these states have often been obscure & inaccessible. We believe high quality, pragmatic instruction and feedback can save you months or years of stagnant practice.
